In 1993 Dave Gardner a Preston based songwriter and musician was plucked from obscurity to sharing the stage with American songwriter and actor Kris Kristofferson. With no management or agent representation – Kris signed off on Dave.
Following the tour Dave then went on to play with The Kinks on their 1993/94 final tour and Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett.
In between the high profile touring around the UK and Europe – Dave played the UK Folk Circuit sharing stages with Michael Chapman, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, John Martyn and Pentangle amongst others.
Dave fronts The Hellfire Preachers. Tales of the Road & The Wilderness is Dave’s first book. Centred around the high profile touring. Featuring backstage tales of life on the road and Rock & Roll adventures and outright mayhem.
The wilderness is the back stories that lead to the road. Often funny and sometimes heartbreaking and written with insight and searing honesty.
Evoking colourful beginnings in Preston, Lancashire in the 1970’s and 1980’s – these decades are brought to life in the narrative.
